Our Grocery Division drivers work with dispatch to ensure the safe and timely delivery of our customer’s refrigerated and dry freight to multi-drop grocery store locations. We are a refrigerated trucking company operating across the United States. Our Grocery Division drivers will make 3 rounds a week from Phoenix, AZ to El Paso, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Grand Junction, CO; Colton, CA; Denver, CO, and Las Vegas, NV.

These are customer-specific and “semi-dedicated” lanes with varying drop locations and schedules. In the event our Grocery Division freight is unavailable, a Grocery Division driver must be willing and able to take a regional load for one of our other customers. We offer small fleet size to ensure dispatch is helpful and attentive.

Requirements:

  • Class A CDL
  • 2 years experience
  • Minimum 6 months reefer
  • Clean safety record
  • No speeding 15 + or inattentive driving in 3 years. No DUI/DWI in 7 years
  • Must be willing to go to AZ, CA, WA, OR, MT, UT
  • Candidate must also possess excellent backing skills as well as demonstrate excellent customer service and time management skills

Duties:

  • Perform thorough pre and post trip equipment inspections to identify any maintenance issues that require attention to ensure safe operation and compliance with all DOT regulations.
  • Communicate with dispatch and support staff in day-to-day matters and to resolve issues such as breakdowns, scheduling issues, and hours of service.
  • Communicate proffessionally with Shippers, Receivers, and Customers as each load may require
  • Navigate tractor and 53 ft semi trailer according to route instructions with utmost safety; identifying appropriate speed and manuevers for every changing weather and traffic conditions.
  • Proactively plan out your dispatch considering load scheduling, route, and HOS to identify and communicate issues with dispatch.
  • Secure and weigh load to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local lows for height and weight
  • Set and maintain load temperatures according to Bill of Lading
  • Report any incident, accident, or OS&D in a timely manner and assist as necessary for resolution
  • Participate in ongoing safety training as prescribed by the Safety Department
  • Have the knowlege and physical ability to install tire chains if required
  • Perform light mechanical duties such as changing a fuse or lightbuld

This position may require the following physical requirments

  • Step up to 18"
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Carry up to 50 lbs
  • With one arm lift and pull up to 20 lbs from side to side
  • With one arm pull back 120 lbs
  • Stoop/Squat to a height of 48"
